Special Requirements
• 50% of all CE must be in Treatment and Management of Eye Disease
• All optometrists must maintain current CPR certification
• Newly licensed optometrists: 20 hours per full year after license

State Optometric Associations
The North Dakota Board of Optometry automatically approves courses offered by:
• North Dakota Optometric Association
• Minnesota Optometric Association
• South Dakota Optometric Association
• Montana Optometric Association
COPE Approved Courses
All other courses must be approved by COPE (Council on Optometric Practitioner Education).

OE Tracker Requirement
Since January 1, 2013, all optometrists licensed to practice optometry in North Dakota are required to use OE Tracker to keep track of continuing education hours.
