Recent Updates

CPR Certification Credit

CE Credit

Since the Board has ruled that all licensed optometrists must be current in CPR, all optometrists will receive one hour of CE credit annually for keeping up their CPR status.

Important: Documentation of current CPR certification must be maintained and available for audit.

OE Tracker Requirement

Mandatory

Beginning January 1, 2013, all optometrists licensed to practice optometry in North Dakota are required to use OE Tracker to keep track of continuing education hours.

Compliance: All CE hours must be properly logged in the OE Tracker system for license renewal.

Important Reminders

License Renewal

  • • Licenses expire December 31st of even-numbered years
  • • 20 hours of CE required per renewal period
  • • Early renewal recommended to avoid delays

Continuing Education

  • • COPE-approved courses preferred
  • • Ethics and jurisprudence requirements
  • • Documentation must be maintained for 4 years
